Matthew Yu (游開宇), Chairman
Matthew was a two-term president and member of the Organization of Chinese Americans, the largest Civil Rights Advocacy organization for Asian Pacific Americans. Matthew has been on our board since 1999. He is passionate about helping Chinese Americans live a better life in St. Louis and projecting a positive image for all Chinese Americans. Matthew has 25+ years of experience in IT management and leadership.
Victoria Wan (王红), Secretary
Victoria has been on our board since 2009. Prior to that, she served as the Finance Chair of St. Louis Chinese Language School. She also served as the M.C. for the Mid-Autumn Festival Concert, co-hosted by the St. Louis Chinese Association and the University of Missouri-St. Louis for many years. Volunteering gives Victoria a great sense of pride and self-fulfillment. She is a mortgage banker, with years of experience and many satisfied customers.
Louisa Chen (盧怡), Treasurer
Louisa was born in Shanghai, China. She has served as Social Service Inspector for a Federal Agency. She is the Treasurer for St. Louis Yangtze River Performance Arts Ensemble. Louisa enjoys and participates in the community events, and she is an active member of the St. Louis Chinese community.
Lisa Hu (胡亞华)
Lisa was born in Hangzhou city, Zhejiang province, China. She has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, a M.S. in MIS, and is an IT engineer at a premier health insurance company in St. Louis. Lisa has served as board chair and principal of the St. Louis Chinese Language School. She is dedicated to serving the Chinese community and she loves food, travel, photography, fashion, painting, Chinese calligraphy and reading.
Yimin Zhu (朱一民)
Yimin was born in Beijing, China. He has a B.S. degree in electrical engineering, and M.S. and D.Sc. degrees in Electrical and System Engineering. He is an IT professional at a large financial company. He has served as principal and chairman of the board of St. Louis Modern Chinese School, chairman of CCDs planning committee. He is also an oversea member of All-China Federation of Oversea Chinese. Yimin is dedicated to serving the community and promoting Chinese Culture and Education. He loves sports, travel, and reading.
Chunsheng Xia (夏春生)
Chungsheng has been on the board since 2011. He served as the Principal of St. Louis Modern Chinese School (SLMCS) from 2008 to 2011. He is also a board member of SLMCS, the Director of its Social Dance Club and a member of its Chinese Culture Center. In 2011, he served as the Chairman of Chinese Culture Days Organization Committee. Chungsheng is actively involved in many activities to promote Chinese culture. He has over 20 years experience in drug discovery and research.
Jeff Xu (徐群)
Jeff serves as the chair of the Board of directors of St. Louis Modern Chinese School. Jeff has been on our board since 2014. He is passionate about promoting Chinese language and culture in St. Louis community. Jeff has been the production manager of the in-door performing arts program of Chinese Culture Days for the last three years. He has 20 years of experience in IT.
Yingwen Huang (黄颖文)
Yingwen, born in Guangzhou, China, earned his B.S. degree in Physical Chemistry at the South China Institute of Technology. He came to U.S. in 1986 to study Biophysical Chemistry at Southern Illinois University. After getting his Ph.D. in 1991, Yingwen joined Washington University Medical School as a post-doctoral fellow and then a research associate. In 1999, he started his computer engineering career and has been working for Staples as a web architect. Yingwen is dedicated to promoting Chinese culture and education. He also serves as the President of St. Louis Modern Chinese Language School. Yingwen loves dancing, performing arts, cooking and gardening.
Min Liu
Min Liu has been on the board since 2017. Her service in the St. Louis Chinese community is inspired by leaders whose hard work and sacrifice paved the way for a prosperous and engaged community, and by the young generations who aspire to serve and strengthen their beloved community with creativity and passion.
